MARKETING TO MILLENNIALS
Millennials are 75 million strong, even surpassing the Baby Boomers, and the financial services industry knows that future success depends on learning what matters to millennials and building products and services around those desires. This is true for both consumer lending and small business lending for budding entrepreneurs.
Michele Raneri, Experian’s VP of Analytics and authority on millennial credit trends, will present “What’s Trending in Lending”. The nutshell version of this presentation is that millennials use credit very differently than any other population segment, even if you compare different population segments (Generation X for example) when they were the same age as millennials now. In addition, Michele will discuss the present and future look of small business owners in this population segment.
Aside from the credit habits of millennials, what else have we learned? Millennials have different expectations for financial services providers. This includes the authenticity of brands, the expectation for financial education, technology of course, and importantly, brands that connect to a larger purpose. Financial services organizations that develop and innovate based on the millennial wish list can capture the hearts of this population and build long-lasting loyalty.

FIND THE OPPORTUNITY. FIND THE WILL. FOLLOW YOUR PATH
Christina Pham founded JMAC Lending after seeing an opportunity in the mortgage banking industry to reach the traditionally under-served Asian market in Southern California. Leveraging cutting-edge technology, efficient operation, and an experienced underwriting staff, she established a solid foundation for her investors’ faith. Today, even as President of the company, Christina still underwrites loans, especially newer products, to develop a comprehensive and intimate understanding of the products her company sells. She believes leadership is defined by the ability to listen and adapt to the insights of her employees, who are entrenched in the loan manufacturing business. Over the course of only seven years, Christina managed to expand a modest eight-person operation that serviced only Orange County to a company that boasts more than 100 employees and services 14 states, capturing a significant portion of the wholesale lending market wherever it goes. JMAC Lending has originated approximately 30,000 mortgage loans through its wholesale lending platform and has become one of the 30 largest wholesale lenders in the industry.
